The New York City Anti-Hipster Forum: Hack away
Hipsters Are Annoying!

A Blog dedicated to all the absurd and annoying things hipsters do, say, wear, and probably, think.

Hack away

Let The Hacking Begin!

This is an open call for submissions. I’m too damn busy to keep up the Forum all alone and following the incredible response on the comment boxes in recent weeks, I think it’s about time the Anti-Hipster Forum lived up to its title and really became a Forum. So pitch away, and here are the basics: I’ll consider anything, and I do mean anything as long as it’s good. But it absolutely must be good, and if you don’t know if it’s good, then it’s probably bad. Short fiction, essays, poetry, interviews, politics, culture, arts, reviews, shopping lists, crosswords, whatever, just make it fucking compelling and fun to read and I’ll probably put it up.

And to all the cartoonists and illustrators out there: Get those pens’a scribbling and send me something.

And oh yes, you must have known this was coming: there’s a catch. Actually there are a few catches: 1. Please, please, please – I know it’s called the Anti-Hipster Forum – but unless it absolutely blows my mind, I won’t be posting any anecdotes about that asshole hipster who knocked over your beer at the Death Cab For Cutie show, or that fucked up roommate who was obsessed with the Gremlins and left town with your Coltrane box set, etc. You get the idea. It’s time for something new. But if you want to write purely about hipsters, I invite hipster theory-type essays and so forth. 2. I don’t pay (shocking).

So, ladies and gentlemen, let the hacking begin.
